Specific Facial Zone Treatments
Just starting to see fine lines and wrinkles? Or is there just one area of your face that you want to focus on rather than the whole? Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture can be applied only to specific areas if you don’t feel like you need “the whole shabang.” You will still receive a full body acupuncture treatment in addition to your specific facial zone treatment as well as a finishing facial massage as part of your session. Note that detailed attention to all these zones and more is included in a full facial series.
Facial Gua Sha - Needle Free Facial Resculpting
Trained by Ping Zhang of the Nefeli Institute, Rebecca is certified in facial Gua Sha, a natural needle free Chinese facial lift techniques using natural horn or jade or gua sha tools to invigorate the skin, enliven the complexion, activate energetic channels on the face to correct hormone imbalances and lift sagging skin while re-sculpting the musculature of the face.
Facial Gua Sha is safe during pregnancy, shows immediate change and enhances the effects of facial acupuncture dramatically. It can also be done independent of acupuncture for the needle-phobic.
Facial Acupuncture FAQ:
Does it hurt? No more than regular acupuncture treatment, which is to say - it completely depends on you. Some people feel every needle, some people don't fell any of them at all, so until we get you on the table we just can't be sure. Even when people do feel acupuncture needles they are not generally experienced as uncomfortable, more a sensation of pressure than of pain. Sometimes there is a "mosquito bite" type sensation when the needle is first inserted, but it is nothing like getting a shot at the doctor.
Will My Insurance Cover It? Insurance does not cover cosmetic acupuncture treatment since it is "elective" and not "medically necessary." We do treat the whole body and can address various ailments during Facial Acupuncture Treatment, however, so we can bill for a part of the treatment - the part that is not cosmetic. Depending on your insurance coverage, this could pay for anywhere from $30-$70 of your session.
