*Note that to bill insurance accurately by code, sometimes different codes are chosen based on what happens in any individual session. For instance - a longer or more complex intake dictates using a more complex office visit code when billing and this incurs a higher fee. The requirement of referral authorizations for certain cases also requires a higher level of detail in documentation which can involve deeper assessment and longer office visit times also incurring extra fees. This is determined on a case by case basis which means there can be a slight variability in the billed rate for services, typically not more than $45. For a fully coded fee schedule click HERE.
**Acupuncture visits that are billed to insurance often involve additional assessment tools, scales and documentation which require added time and which are not required in visits paid out of pocket. Therefore, out of pocket visits can incur lower fees. Treatments are always equivalent and all fees are assessed on a visit by visit basis.
